Norway is the only country with a VO Organisation, a unique entity that empowers you to have a voice in the safety and welfare of yourself and your colleagues. This invaluable organization allows you, as an employee, to influence and enact changes that enhance the safety and well-being of the entire workforce. Don’t let this opportunity go to waste. § 2-3. Employee’s duty to participate

(1) The employee must contribute to the design, implementation and follow-up of the company’s systematic health, environmental and safety work. Employees must participate in the organized safety and environmental work in the business and must actively participate in the implementation of the measures that are put in place to create a good and safe working environment.(2) The employee must:

  1. a.use mandatory protective equipment, exercise caution and otherwise contribute to preventing accidents and health damage,
  2. b.immediately notify the employer and the health and safety representative and, to the extent necessary, other employees when the employee becomes aware of errors or deficiencies that may cause danger to life or health, and the person concerned cannot rectify the situation himself,
  3. c.interrupt work if the employee believes that it cannot continue without causing danger to life or health,
  4. d.ensure that the employer or the safety representative is notified as soon as the employee becomes aware that harassment or discrimination is occurring in the workplace,
  5. e.report to the employer if the employee is injured at work or contracts an illness that the employee believes is due to the work or conditions at the workplace,
  6. f.participate in the preparation and implementation of follow-up plans in the event of total or partial absence from work due to accident, illness, wear and tear or the like,
  7. g.participate in a dialogue meeting after being summoned by the employer, cf. section 4-6 fourth paragraph.
  8. h.comply with orders from the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority.

(3) An employee whose task is to lead or control other employees must ensure that safety and health are taken care of during the planning and execution of the tasks that fall under their own area of ​​responsibility.

Full/part-time primary protection representatives have the same conditions and remuneration as full/part-time shop stewards.
