Challenging Monthly Meeting

Challenging Monthly Meeting

We had a challenging monthly meeting with the office, where we faced several disagreements. However, we remain committed to advocating for employees’ rights and always approach discussions with a focus on finding constructive and balanced solutions.

We went into a lot of details regarding the proposed new Living Well Initiative which SAFE are going to be promoting and are pushing the company to get up and running, it should go live soon. More details will follow.

We discussed the relief pool and the Inspirer pool, and SAFE in Noble’s position remains that the Inspirer pool should be finished after the protocol runs out December 31st. It is now time to review the pool in terms of numbers and positions, particularly in light of the increasing use of agency personnel (Noble Norway currently utilizes three agencies). No alignment on values or a clear way forward was reached during the discussions, and we will continue these conversations in the New Year. Internal meetings between HR and rig managers are planned to address this further. SAFE in Noble will maintain pressure to ensure the establishment of a balanced relief pool where all employees are treated equally.

Some HSE positions are transitioning back to Stavanger, which we see as a positive step towards aligning more closely with SAFE’s principles in Noble. While it is always disappointing that this change will lead to some job losses in Poland, having these roles based in Stavanger fosters stronger ties with onshore teams and reflects the values we stand for.

We also addressed some cases we had during the meeting and hopefully found ways forward for these.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. To those working over the festive period, please stay SAFE. Looking ahead to 2025, we promise one thing: the board at SAFE in Noble will continue to stand strong for everyone working offshore in this ever-challenging industry. We want to thank our members for having the courage to join a new union and contribute to making a positive difference for all offshore workers with Noble in Norway. We see 2025 as a pivotal year for growth and strength, which will empower us even more in our ongoing discussions and challenges with the company.

Best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season!
