Stalled talks Over Hydraulics Pay

We recently submitted a proposal to the company in hopes of sparking meaningful dialogue and resolving the long-standing issue surrounding hydraulics pay. In our efforts, we reached out to both the other unions for support; while one engaged positively, the other unfortunately chose not to back the initiative and declined to offer any way forward to us.

During conversations with the company, they acknowledged that this matter urgently needs resolution. However, they emphasized that a way forward must be agreed upon by all unions. At our latest meeting, we proposed that Noble invite representatives from all three unions to sit down together and collaborate on a solution. The company agreed to issue invitations but clarified they cannot compel any union to attend.

We remain optimistic. Unions exist to serve their members so a meeting should be possible, and we believe that through cooperation and dialogue, we can finally resolve this issue in a way that benefits members of both unions.

Rig Visit

We had the pleasure of visiting the Noble Intrepid in Aberdeen and look forward to its return to Norway — even if only for a short contract. You never know what opportunities might be waiting just around the corner.

We strongly encourage all crew to consider joining a union, even for short stays. Representation can be crucial, and unions are here to support you in navigating questions or challenges that may arise.

It was good news that the helicopter issue was resolved, and they can crew change as normal out from Sola

Meeting with Erik Evensgaard – Productive Discussions and Positive Outlook

We recently had a constructive meeting with Erik Evensgaard, where we covered key developments within the company. The conversation centred on the current status of the rigs and future prospects for contracts. Erik shared an optimistic outlook, and we’re hopeful for further updates later this year regarding potential new projects.

The discussion then shifted to manning levels, addressing several pressing concerns. We spoke candidly about the shortage of younger personnel entering the field and the staffing challenges faced by the technical department. The relief pool was also brought up, along with the continued reliance on agency workers and short-term six-week contracts.

We emphasized the significant contribution of those on six-week contracts—many of whom have consistently supported the company through demanding periods. It was strongly recommended that these individuals be considered for permanent positions, in recognition of their ongoing commitment and value.

We are to raise the issue with the 6 week contracts with the office at next months monthly meeting

Finally, we addressed the VO organisation, AMU training matters, and the current high levels of sickness impacting operations. All in all, it was a positive and open meeting, and Erik expressed his appreciation for the usual candid and constructive exchange.

AMU Election

AMU election is under way we encourage you all to participate in the vote, its important we get the right persons into the AMU just as it is to get HVOs and Vos that can represent all personnel on board the rigs.
